Plans, news and realizations

As much as I wanted to do a part 2 of "Dont be afraid of ze love" it's been days and new thoughts that made laugh and scream appeared before me...

News:

I'm now a part of the Design staff, finally after 2 years of waiting. Unfortunately it's also my last term so I only have one year to grace the design staff with my presence. Boohoo.

Watched Madagascar with Jenjen, BJ, Charles, Meggee, Vinci and Gail on saturday. Got a pic with the penguins! YAY! Just check Jenjen's blog for that pic XD

Jenjen is my new padawan for music games (dance maniax, ddr, drum mania). May she rise to the occasion and be a better game dancer/musician than any of us... *lol*

Plans:

Will be very busy for the next few weeks because of several projects:
1. Still working on revamping my novel. Adding new elements, revamping, etc. Putting more depth in characters without giving it a totally serious look.
2. Making a new line up of comic strips for the Benildean. This will be fun. It's gonna be hard to show their personalities in a span of 8 to 10 strips.
3. Need to come up with 50 quality works for Portfolio. I am very happy that Sir Dan is my prof. Received a bit of reaction when I showed the class my basic design.
4. Need to interview Sir Dong Fajardo for the next issue of BLiP.
5. Need to do good in my job as a food reviewer. BJ and I will be doing food reviews now with him being the demon and me being the angel. It's gonna be cute.
6. Need to finish and render all the comic strips for Jaja. I hope ht epay is.... ahem... good... (for the I-pod/Creative Zen 20GB mp3 player fund)
7. Have to meet with Aia's dad for the job they want me to do. I hope it wont interfere with my schoolwork so much but the job is so much interesting I wanna do it.

Realizations:

I am a very hard man to be with in terms of relationships. The last thing I need is a clingy person or an emotional leech who'll cry and whine at every disappointment. Just because something didn't push through DOES NOT mean it'll never happen. I should know these things clearly... because I used to be clingy and one of my ex's is a leech.

Don't get me wrong. I can be very committed but not beyond reason. Relationships should be based on trust, unselfish love, supportive devotion and humorous kink. Always the humorous kink! I am a tiger in bed... bwahahahahahahaha.

I am a lover and a big one at that but I am also two things: a dreamer and an artist. I am capable of accepting people and I know the meaning of the word compromise. But I need the freedom to dream so my imagination can soar and my art will grow. I refuse to be part of a relationship that constrains me or else my dreams and imaginations will cease it's growth. Relationships shouldn't be based on fear and selfishness.

Like what Jen and I believe, we should be in a relationship for the sake of being in love not out of desperation.

I just hope that who I end up will make me mature into a better artist, who'll I'll share my dreams with and vice versa, be kinky with and will help me become a better person.

Do not be afraid of ze love (Another weekly report)

Monday: May 16, 2005

First day of the Frosh Orientation. Decided to help out with the festivities. Completely forgot to wear Red so after being carefully scolded by the SPO people (they will rue the day they did that) I scooted down to Addidas and bought myself a lovely red shirt (40% off). ^_^ I love that shirt, btw. I never really liked Red so much but it made me rather sexy that day. I wont bother placing in the pics since Jenjen already has it up on her blog. XD

There were many cute female froshies. Too bad they're WAAAAAAAAAAAY young for my age. I think I'll begin lying about my age since most people think I'm only 19-20.

*lol* Yes, I'm vain.

We enjoyed the wedding booth and I was able to lure miss Kato from the MCO all the way to the wedding booth. Hehe, sir Randy tried to escape his fate but Sam was quick enough to spot and drag him down to the booth. It was a lovely wedding indeed. :D

I did a good deed on this day but I'm not telling what XD

Tuesday: May 17, 2005

Didn't go to school today. I know I was supposed to help out but I was too tired from travelling all the time. I've been driving all day and I think I needed the rest.

Bought Dynasty Warriors 5 for the ps2 and I love it to bits. Too bad I my nephew and my 2nd brother loves the game too so I had to wait for my turn before I could play. If only I had another dual shock controller. Jen, Vinci, Luthfi and Johnny will be glad to hear about this. XD Trying to get Pope to play the game too if only we had time that is. Since school will be starting next week I doubt we'll have time for anything.

Wednesday: May 18, 2005

Went to school again but with BJ this time so we could do a video on the SPO people for the SPO recruitment booth. The colors of the day are yellow and orange. I don't mind the colors except when they're on me. BJ absolutely hated the colors. XD

Still helped out with the wedding booth. Saw more cute froshies like Edden. *sigh* Too young. BJ just had to chant that cartoon network Mucha Lucha commercial "LEGAL!" "ILLEGAL!" all the live long day.

Did another good deed XD

After that, spent the rest of the day at the office trying to be as productive as a horny teenager at a Mardi Gras collecting beads. (Did that come off right?). You should check out the ads I made out of all the funny pics we found of the SPO people. I'd post samples if BJ, Jen and Jgo allow me *lol*

Ate at I love Sushi with Joanah, Ross, Jr, Jen and BJ since it's gonna be one of the restaurants I'll be reviewing for the second BLiP issue :D I hope I do well. :)

Just when I thought fortune is at my peak, my pick-up's Steering Belt got busted so BJ and I had to wait at Mike's place. Thanks Mike :D Got home at 12am since we had to wait for another ride and the tow truck with the company mechanics. BJ spent the night since it was too late and we ended up playing Dynasty Warriors 5 until 4am.

Thursday: May 19, 2005

Went to school with the intent of adding two more subjects but due to the long line and the incompatibility of the schedules I decided to go to the SPO and hang out. Fortunately Di told me I didn't have to enroll to Ordev-2 just to take recollection 2. I wanna take the retreat with most of the people I know like with either Mike and the others or with the SPO gang. Pope's kinda torn too. Who can blame us? The SPO is a happy bunch and I love them (is expecting subsidy to increase by the end of the term). *lol*

ANYway...

Went home earlier to see Star Wars 3 with Kuya Joel, his wife Ate Malou, their children Martin and Marriane and my nephew Jayjay. It was a nice movie and it made me want to watch episodes 4, 5 and 6 once more. Ate at Jollibee afterwards and Kuya Joel and I discussed the philosophical values of Star Wars and how episode 3 affected the mind set of all the characters on the later episodes.

Sarsi is now served at Jollibee!! HAPPY!!! ^_^

My dinner would have been peachy if it weren't for that stupid waiter who just had to horse around with another waiter therefore making him spray chlorox at my food. Almost went nuts again since I have Ate Malou and Kuya Joel to back me up on this. Good thing they replaced the meal for free.

To be continued....

Emergency GA and Slumber Party!

the emergency GA that morning was productive. I cant believe they made me Audio Visual head for the coming launch this June. It's gonna be exciting!! The atmosphere this time at the SPO is actually more livelier than before and I actually enjoy hanging out with these people. Too bad this is my last year at college.Saw friendly faces once more like Joanah, Jgo, Charlotta, Tasha and Pope. I had fun being makulit at some people that day like Charlotta and Eunice. Takot nga lang ako baka nasobrahan ako sa kulit. XD

Will be working with Jan and Sam for the intro video and the animations. Hope I can kick ass. :D

The Karilyon was finally finished. Kudos to Ross, Faith, Ricky and Aries. Saludo ako sa inyo. :)

After all the pleasantries was the much awaited Slumber Party at my house! YAY! Unfortunately due to the late announcements, only a few people were able to make it. Johanna, Renito and Brian could have made it. :(

Roster of people who made it:
- BJ (drove the van! 2nd bro! thanks pal)
- Sir Randy (syempre sya nagyaya din e)
- Vinci (everyone's favorite kuya)
- Jenjen (shobe!)
- Di (si 2nd mama, Darna!!! *lol*)
- Pope (younger brother!!)
- Philip (bottomless pit no.1)
- JR (master!)
- Ross (Filipino editor ng bayan)
- Johnny (layout dude!!)
- Luthfi (humabol sya and he brought cake!! We luv u Luthfi)
- Dustin (Yearbook staffer pero one of the gang na rin)

The road trip took awhile since we had to drive the van and the car has very bad handling and speed. Bought food stuffs sa SM Fairview and they acted like tourists especially inside Ace hardware. I think it was Vinci who was doing the Japanese tourist impressions while Sir Randy went into decorator mode. It was a riot. *lol*

It was already 10 pm when we arrived here at my home. I prepared Tacos while BJ bought two garlic pizzas from Shakey's. Everyone was so hungry so the food quickly disappeared. Vinci gave light to the dinner table with his perverted jokes which will eventually send him to hell. *lmao*

After eating some of the people played Soul Calibur 2 while some of us played Twister!!! Galing ni Philip. Parang si Spiderman!

The activities were divided like a fraction of the gang played PS2, some played cards, some slept already while some watched movies. Played my very first game of Bluff and it was fun. I wasn't much of a liar so I couldn't play it properly. Buti na lang di ako natalo *lol* Dustin finished first and then me. It came down to the two bluff veterans BJ and Vinci.

Played against Pope and BJ on the PS2. Had fun playing The Rumble Fish, King of Fighters 2003 and Guilty Gear XX. Pope was sooooo cool at Guilty Gear XX. I bow down to him at his superiority! I'm not worthy! :D

As for the movies, we watched movies like Euro Trip, Suicides (a disturbing art film where people commit suicide in front of the camera), View from Top, Dodge Ball, Not Another Teen Movie and Into the Woods (a funny musical about getting several fairy tales together in one story). Didn't really watch Euro Trip, Suicides and Not Another Movie. Weren't too good for my tastes unfortunately.

Johnny and Luthfi discovered the joy of playing Dynasty Warriors. Even Jen and Vinci got hooked. :D Dianne made a drink consisting of Gin, Sprite and Blue Gatorade.

Since most of the sleeping places were occupied and we needed the peace, Pope and I slept at my room while the others slept at the living room. Jen and Di were supposed to sleep on my bed while Pope, BJ and I occupied the floor but BJ fell asleep on the couch, Di got knocked out because of the drink and Jen got interested with Dynasty Warriors. I gave Pope my Brush Pen and a box of 36 pastels from Mungyo (a good brand). He's got a lot of potential and as artists, we need to help each other grow. I look forward to the day where he'll achieve his goal of progression.

Luthfi and Johnny woke me up since they had to leave earlier than the others. Dustin, Pope and I were the first one to wake up then Sir Randy and BJ. Bj took pics of all the people still sleeping. I should post the pics here but due to the vulgarity of their poses I will not or else they will kill me. *lol* Had breakfast of scrambled eggs, strawberry pancakes, suman and sweet pandesal. We had to wake Ross up to cook the spaghetti he volunteered to prepare. It was really good. Thanks Ross! :)

While the three of us prepared the pasta, BJ and Sir Randy worked on the grill outside. The porkchop steaks they grilled were great! :)

After the meal, everyone just started to relax. Yung iba natulog uli while yung iba naglaro ng PS2. Si Vinci tuloy gusto na magka-PS2! Hehe. It was around 4 and still the people lounged around until Sir Randy told us that they should be going home.

It was nice having my friends sleepover my house and it was really fun. Can't wait until the next sleepover at whoever's house. :)

hectic summer and it's still too hot

I hate the heat. It forces me to sleep naked. Bwahahahahahahahaha >:) joke

Saturday:
Went out with my old highschool buddies, Jayps and Eric. It's the first time Jayps saw me drive, hehe. I thought he was going to bring a helmet. Eric made us wait at Libis tho since he works at Citibank. XD Played Guitar Freaks 11th mix at Eastwood Mall. The machine there is great with only 15 bucks per game and 5 songs! WOOHOO!!!! I love Twinkle Star, Sailing Day and Mr. Bobby. Bought Go Nuts Donuts by myself. They can ruin a person's diet.

Went to Rockwell again afterwards to play some more. We had the running gag that day to play Mushiking :)) Eric treated us to Chinese Monk that night since his bday is coming up. :D We had a fun night.

Sunday:
Mother's day! We celebrated at Super Bowl of China. Got top priority since kilala na ako dun. Bwahahahaha. Beat that Kris Aquino! 800 pesos for a Peking Duck! Buti sana kung gawa yung duck sa ginto! It's the second night I ate Yang Chow Fried Rice for Dinner.

Lumalaki nanaman tyan ko.

Monday - Wednesday:
Worked at the SPO for the remaining 3 days. Honestly I have no idea what my primary role is there. Pinag-eedit nila ako, pinag-dedesign and pinag-lalayout. I dont mind it tho. I think it's fun. I feel like I can give so much to the SPO but I'm worried that my studies will affect it. Syempre top priority ko parin ang studies. Jaja hired me to do some work too like re-drawing comic strips her friend made. Very interesting since I'll be using western cartoon styles to draw the characters. It's something new to me but I'll do my best.

I love the SPO gang and I hope that I can help them.

I once received a fortune cookie and the words still haunt me:
"Accept responsibilities and you will rise to the occasion and become the leader of men"

Maybe it's high time I did.

Congratulations to everyone for the printing of Horizons and Blip! *applause* Karilyon na lang!

Thursday:
Enlightened with what happened last night. Looks like I found a great songwriting partner. I just hope we do great stuff together. :)

Another Japanese song made me cry this morning. Mika Nakashima's Sakurairo Maukoro... I downloaded both the video and the mp3. It's so sad and beautiful. I'll try to translate it during my free time.

Didn't go to the office today but I had to work on some legal documents for the Family Business like signing paperwork and helping clean the house since tomorrow's the SPO slumber party. You guys should see the poster Jaja made :)) Sir Randy went nuts *lmao*

Out of it at deviantart

I'm still out of it at deviantart... call it a little bit of trauma from what happened to my first DA meet... it just made me realize a lot of stuff I have been neglecting or have been taking for granted.

First of all, my reasons for drawing. Is it this obsession from getting 10000 page views? Shouldn't I be drawing for the love of my art instead of wanting to impress people?

Second, is my art style actually growing? Am I giving my characters enough life? Should I take my art style to a new level and not let anime be the premise that depicts art as art?

Third, am I taking the necessary steps needed to achieve my dreams? Shouldn't I be focusing on finishing writing my novel than moving on to other stuff?

Sure my primary style of drawing is anime, particularly shoujo. But it's my style. I shouldn't be ashamed of it. It captures the essences and gives life to the characters and stories I created.

I may not be as great an artist as most people here but is greatness measured through pageviews or the way it's anime or it's cute? Of course not. Art is about giving life.

I should recapture that focus so I could begin to create life no matter how crude my art style is. It shouldn't matter as long as I know it's mine.

Sorry about the so called summer projects but I need to deal with this issue first before moving on. It's high time actually start finishing what I started... 8 years ago....

Damn this heat

My body's currently out of it. As much as I'd like to draw and play with my new tablet, or go to school and work on the school paper, I can't. I'm sick with headaches, a sore throat and a runny nose. What caused this is probably fatigue and the fact that it's so friggin hot this summer. It's inhuman! It's like there's a huge warm blanket draped around you everywhere you go.

Tuesday May 3, 2005:

Went to school to go to the gym with some of the SPU people and hopefully work on the school paper some more. Kainis nga lang since the main file for Adobe Pagemaker got corrupted or something so Faith had to piece together the different articles into one huge file again.

Around 2:00 we headed to the gym in a larger group now. :) Jen, Ross, Geline and I went on ahead while Vinci, Jaja and her sis followed later. The gym was chaotic since Sir Bong wasn't there to oversee the workout schedules. The entire women's basketball team was there and they reek of testosterone. I mean, damn. They walk around with only their bra's on as if it were nothing to them. What is it with Girls in the women's basketball team? They suddenly turn into lesbians or something.

Sir Bong told us that unless we are athletes we cannot use the gym until school starts. Bummer. Now to find a new place to work out for the time being.

Back at the office, I tried to help Faith with her work but she seems to handle it pretty well. We had fun with an FHM magazine tho and to quote Jaja: "the Princess Exposed". (inside joke) I dont believe self respecting girls would just send in smutty stories to entice guys. That's just low. Regarding that pic I took of Jen at the gym last week, let's just say we ran around with Jen chasing me because Sam and Vinci wanted a copy of the dreaded pic. Basta ang gulo! Sam even went inside the girl's bathroom just to scare the living daylights out of Jen. Things mellowed down for a while when Vinci, Jaja and I made charicatures of Sir Randy. Need to work on the eyes. To top off that day, I just found out that our beloved Editor-in-Chief, Dianne, has a "kiliti in everywhere". If Vinci and BJ hadn't restrained me Di would have hyperventilated. It was fun. I like ticklish women. Bwahahahahahaha.

After everything settled down, Vinci asked us to go with him to this Chinese Restaurant near his house. I forgot the name but it has an all you can eat buffet for only 160 bucks. Sadly only BJ, Sir Randy, Vinci, Dianne, Jen and I got to go since the pick-up was big enough to fit only 6 people. Jaja and Jr wanted to go too pa naman pero makikinood lang at hindi kakain. The Yangchow fried rice was good and it had little daing bits. I'd type here the stuff we talked about but I swore an oath that nothing leaves that table. :)

We visited Vinci's house and talked about creepy stories. We wished Sam was there or he'll either have a fit with the mess or have an orgasm with the mere thought of cleaning that place.

The enchanted kingdom trip wont push through tho but they're thinking of having an SPU sleepover at my house this summer. Sana matuloy XD Si Sir Randy may gusto din e *lol*

Wednesday May 4, 2005:

Start of my sickness. But I needed to finish one task I've been meaning to do for the longest time: Clean my Room. Good thing BJ showed up to help me. He's such a good chap XD. Unfortunately we didn't get to finish the entire room in one day. That's the thing about owning a big room. You need to fill up that space but it in the end it's too much stuff to handle. I fixed my desk, my sktechpads and my CD collection. Need to work on my cabinets and my anime collection figurine set-up. It's not as good as Milo's but it's adequate for me. :D

Aia met me on YM and she's offering me two jobs. I wish I can do them well this summer.

Boy's day out, yearbook and DA meet

Let's start off with the Boy's Day out... We call it boy's day out because it's that day Gerr and Ace couldn't make it.

Thursday

The original plan was supposed to go Puerto Galera but things regressed from that to Batangas to Laguna until it the verdict reached just going to my house. But Gerr and Ace had last minute changes so they couldn't make it. So ayun... Rockwell na lang. 5 boys in a mall with cute asian girls walking about. What could happen? :D BJ was being the hyperactive kid that time, Mark being the only guy of the bunch who's not single assumed the role of being mr. cool, Ton was still Ton... though I know something's bothering him that time and I'll not talk about it here, Mike was... odd, well I... assumed my role of being somewhat aloof (I think).

Ate at Bread Talk again and for the 3rd time, Mt. Fuji Swirl wasn't available. Poor BJ. After a few rounds in the arcade, we watched Guess Who (after debating on which movie to see, Mark wanted XXX2 while I tried to insist that we watch that movie with Sandara Park *lol*). Good movie that had substance and the subtle placement and resolution of each main character's issues made it really worth while. Got into a bit of trouble at first since we were noisy due to the 80's songs being played before the movie. They didn't show the trailer of Pink Panther again... :(

Mike, Ton and Mark had to leave early arond 5:30 for various reasons. BJ and I roamed the mall abit and talked serious matters while dining at Chinese Monk. Saw Richard Guttierez... geh.

Friday

Finally! I finished gathering all requirements for the Yearbook. Finally got my pictorial stub! Hope I dont loose it unlike SOME PEOPLE. :p joke. Saw my friend there. Her smile can brighten anyone's day. Seriously!

Helped out in the ofice for a while until 5:30 since the people at SPU got invited to Ate Rizza's child Erin at Mc Donalds Greenbelt. Boohoohoo *cries* k lang. I needed to go home early anyway.

I looked at a note I got from deviantart.com saying there's gonna be a workshop by the Artist's Den people. I wanted to meet some people from DA so I can improve on my art and hopefully meet new people. Good thing Pope wanted to go too so I texted a few more people hoping they could join too like Gerr, BJ, Ace, Milo and Rye.

Saturday

Made it to megamall but I wuz late due to parking. Saturday at Megamall with a 3-day sale. Whoop-dee-do. Well Ace and Gerr couldn't make it -_-, Milo had some family business to take care of, BJ was.. well... misunderstanding with dad ata and Rye... hehe, trauma daw with some of the people.

Pope was late too so since we couldn't make it to the 12pm workshop, we decided to hang around and wait until it was 3 to meet with the DA peeps sa Bowling. Till then we hung out and it was great. Got dehydrated from talking too much. The guy had a lot of thoughts in his head. He "convinced" me to buy the Li Kohran Sakura Wars figurine. *lol* it was on sale anyway and a great deal too from 600 to 250. :D Pope and I waited for the rest of the DA people to show up sa Bowling area and when they did... getting to talk to them was another thing. *lol* I wanted Pope to talk first because he's taller but he said that I should talk first because I was older. After a looooooooong period of standing... we got to talk to some of them although it wasn't what we hoped to see.

The artists there were great but they give the impression that they are drawing just for the sake of being impressive. Their portfolios were great and very top notch. But I didn't feel life in them. I dunno if it's me but it's probably the result of 8 years with working on a story while creating characters that had life though they're only seven. My main focus is probably to tell a story and the art and drawings are there to support it.

The last few minutes were a bit... surreal since we ended up talking to these two girls about cosplay, Naruto and Shaman King. Pope was showing tell tale signs that he wanted to leave. We did leave and we ranted all the way to National Bookstore.

One thing we learned is to avoid becoming artists that evolve around the premise that anime is what makes art art. We didn't find what we were seeking tho but I had a great time. Pope if you're reading this, thanks pal! /no1
